The Tuesday Night Turtle Road Racing Series (RRS) is a test of the club’s runners athletic prowess over 12 different road-racing events throughout the year (typically one-per-month)distances ranging from 5K to ½ marathon. The seven best performances count towards the series standings. There are three different competitions:
This is the blue-ribbon event. This competition recognizes the fastest road-racer, male and female. There is no second place in the blue-ribbon event just outright road racing champions.
Using WAVA Age-Grading Tables each racer will have thier time ‘graded’ to the 2006 WAVA factors. This permits athletes of different ages to be compared directly against each other. See Table for example.
| AGE | SEX | SCRATCH 5K TIME | AGE-GRADED 5K TIME |
| 25 | Male | 18:15 | 18:15 |
| 40 | Male | 18:45 | 18:03 |
| 25 | Female | 19:15 | 19:15 |
| 40 | Female | 19:45 | 18:49 |
In this example the master runner in the Male and Female Divisons Age-Graded times are actually faster then the open runners time; therefore they would be given the 1st place points. For more examples CLICK HERE!!
For this Competiton, everyone is equal. Age doesn't matter nor does gender. Using the same WAVA Age-Grading Tables we will find out who ran the Best Overall Single Performance using all of our 12 races. All you have to run is one race to win this competition. So pick your best distance and make it count! See table for example.
| AGE | SEX | DISTANCE | TIME | PERFORMANCE STANDARD |
| 25 | Male | 10 Miles | 58:40 | 76.14% |
| 40 | Female | 5K | 21:00 | 76.33% |
| 25 | Male | 10K | 37:40 | 75.04% |
| 40 | Female | Half Marathon | 1:30:00 | 73.11% |
In this example the 47 year old Female would have the best Performance Standard, therfore she would win the Best Overall Single Performance Competition!
