Why should I join a running club?
There are numerous reasons to join a running club. Some members join for the social aspect, to make new friends or find new people to run with. Some join for the structure of knowing a run will take place at a routine time. Members learn from other members, from training routines to the best shoes to where to get reasonably priced gear. Racing is not a requirement, but the club organizes teams for many races throughout the year, and is a member club in USATF. Membership in a running club goes beyond just running, our club members are known to host many events throughout the year from family BBQs to holiday and post-race parties. Regardless of your personal reasons for joining, we believe you will find joining a running club a rewarding experience.
I'm not that fast, how will I keep up?
A common misconception is that a running club is only for fast runners. While it is true that our membership includes some very fast runners, our membership consists of runners or all abilities, from fast to slow, and even walkers. If you're still unsure, join us for a Tuesday Night. Membership is not required to run with us, and our current members can usually find one or more people you can hook up with to learn the courses.
What the cost to join?
The initial cost to join TNT is $25. That cost includes your first year's membership dues, and the official TNT singlet. Membership renewals are due around the first of every calendar year, and renewal is only $10.
Do you do anything besides run?
Well, we race too. But seriously, our club runs on Tuesday Nights and Sunday Mornings. Following the Tuesday runs, many club members head to Track 84 to socialize and maybe get a sandwich and a pint. Following the Sunday runs, many members go out for a coffee. There are numerous other events throughout the year that club members are known to host including family barbeques, our annual post-marathon and holiday parties. Other members have been known to get together for other activities, like moutain biking and cycling.
